A Netivot resident burst into his friend's apartment to steal medical cannabis

A resident of Netivot was arrested following a report received by the police about a burglary during which medical cannabis bags were stolen from a patient who holds a license. After interrogation, it turned out that the intruder was the patient's friend and knew in advance where the bags were.

Police report that a suspect arrested a resident of Netivot who broke into an apartment in order to steal medical cannabis for his personal use.

According to the report, the burglar knew that there was medical cannabis in the apartment, since he knew the tenant by virtue of their personal friendship.

The burglar, son of 24, was arrested after an investigation into his identity. In his interrogation, he learned that he knew about the presence of cannabis and its exact location in the apartment.

The indictment was filed against the suspect on Thursday by the police prosecution division.

"The Israel Police received a report on a home outbreak in the Sdot Negev Regional Council and the theft of medical cannabis for its own use," the report said. "An investigation was launched into the identity of a suspect, a resident of Netivot, son of 24, and yesterday he was arrested."

At the beginning of the year, police officers caught two burglars on their way out of an apartment in Ramat Gan, carrying bags full of cannabis plants they had robbed from the apartment.
